CHILDREN OF BODOM: Frontman's Injury Forces DESERT ROCK Cancellation

February 6, 2007

Finnish metallers CHILDREN OF BODOM have posted the following message on their official web site:

"One week ago Alexi [Laiho, guitar/vocals] had the worst luck. He tripped at a bowling alley and his shoulder was hurt. Something is broken but it's not serious like the accident two years ago. He has to be careful 'cos the shoulder will be sensitive for a while. Six weeks of no guitar playing — doctor's orders. This means all the activities planned to happen within the next five weeks have to be cancelled. We can have a break from rehearsals but what breaks our hearts is that we are not able to perform in Desert Rock (Dubai, U.A.E.) in March 2007. That festival was something we were looking forward to but it just can't happen. There's nothing we can do about this!"

CHILDREN OF BODOM's "Chaos Ridden Years - Stockholm Knockout Live" DVD was recently certified gold in Canada. The disc, which debuted at No. 20 on the Canadian chart (the band's highest-ever chart position in Canada),mainly focuses on the February 5, 2006 live concert in Stockholm, Sweden, featuring over 90 minutes of live excitement. Finalizing the material on this super-packed DVD are two interviews/documentary-type films about the band's past, present and future directed by Yka Jarvinen (Indie Films OY),a "making of the DVD," and photo gallery.
